MacMillan Cancer Support’s World’s Biggest Coffee got people across the Fylde eating cake and drinking tea and coffee all in aid of raising valuable funds. Local business, Lytham Coffee Co’s offer to donate coffee got even more cafes involved.
Jeremy Smith from Lytham Coffee Co said ‘Many of our customers had already planned to get involved and some were not sure what they could do. It’s been great fun being involved. I visited as many coffee mornings as possible on the day and clearly everyone involved was enjoying the fun with raffles and competitions. We also visited and donated coffee to businesses that were not our customers!’
Coffee, tea and cakes were the order of the day with many creations donated by home chefs. Last year’s World’s Biggest Coffee Morning raised over £20 million for MacMillan Cancer Support and early signs show that this will be more that beaten this year.
‘From cafes and bistros in our home town of Lytham to Blackpool Tower Ballroom, from a deli in Thornton to a vintage coffee van in Ramsbottom we estimate that the businesses we’ve donated coffee to have raised well over £6,000 between them.’
